Campaign: All Against Hansen’s Disease
SBH-Sociedade Brasileira de Hansenologia, in partnership with the Technical Course in Nursing SENAC-Ribeirão Preto and the Municipality of Ribeirão Preto are hosting a campaign against Hansen’s disease. It will be held at the Settlement PDS da Barra (Sustainable Development Project), also known as Settlement Mário Lago, with educational activities and screening to survey suspected cases of Hansen’s Disease. About 3,000 people live there. Suspected cases of Hansen’s Disease will be referred to the Support Health Unit Dr. Luis Carlos Raya, in Ribeirão Preto-SP.

ICTC and World Extreme Medicine are co-hosting a live webinar highlighting efforts to reach Special Populations across the global trachoma program.
The webinar will present experiences from a range of geographical regions, represented by national and international stakeholders working to improve health equity and ensure that special populations, including indigenous and nomadic populations, refugees and internally displaced persons, can access trachoma interventions.

Don’t Forgot Leprosy
The 24th world leprosy day in Ethiopia will be celebrated on 29 January 2023 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with the motto of Don’t Forgot Leprosy to keep the national and global effort towards to zero transmission, zero disability and Zero discrimination.

Series of events and campaigns – Tanzania
The Neglected Tropical Diseases Control Program (NTDCP) and partners are planning to increase awareness about NTDs control interventions to the public in the country, increase political leaders involvement, advocate for government resources and attract more partners to join efforts in fighting the NTDs in Tanzania. The programme will organize service provision with additional of media coverage:
1. Hydrocelectomy Services
Hydrocelectomy camp for 100 patients in Tanga city. Minister of Health will have the opportunity to visit the camp and talk to the patients operated. Minister of Health will handover surgical equipment’s and drugs for 300 patients in Muheza, Pangani and Mkinga Districts to Tanga Region Health Management Team on 30th Jan 2023.
2. Trachoma Surgeries
Trachoma surgical camps in Bahi and Chamwino Districts; Dodoma Region, Meru, Karatu and Longido Districts; Arusha Region, Kiteto and Simanjiro Districts; Manyara Region.
3. Health Education
Health education sessions on Schistosomiasis and Soil Transmitted Helminthiases to primary school children.
Community awareness initiatives
To increase community awareness, Health Promotion activities will be conducted in collaboration with NTD program, Government Communication Unit – MOH, partners and stakeholders. This will include radio, social media and distribution of leaflets and posters.

Photo Exhibition: Forgotten health, pictures to remember NTDs, Central Civic Library, Turin
A press conference and photographic exhibition will be held in the Civic Library in Turin, Italy to draw attention to the impact of neglected tropical diseases in a non-endemic context such as the Italian one and the Piedmont Region.
