We are planning the following activities to impact the further spread of NTDs : 1. Community training programme focusing on the eve of world NTD day for prevention of NTD. The intended participants will be community leaders from different slums of Patna. The objective is to sensitize the community influencer and creation of pressure group on concerned government department.

Lymphatic filariasis, Trachoma

Burkinabé Association for Community Action

On World NTD Day, our advocacy work will focus on a caravan to combat trachoma and lymphatic filariasis as a public health problem in Burkina. This caravan will travel through the city of Ouagadougou with posters containing images of trachomatous trichiasis that leads to blindness, posters containing images of scrotal elephantiasis, and athlete’s feet of lymphatic filariasis.

On the week of Jan 30th we will be participating in an educational webinar about Chagas disease, speaking to OBGYNs at a talk about screening, and hosting a screening event for Chagas with a partner NGO that works with the Central American immigrant community.

Zambia Ministry of Health

The Ministry Health Zambia joins the globe to mark the inaugural World NTDs Day on January 30, 2020 alongside various cooperating partners under the customised theme: ‘#beatNTDs for Good. Leaving No One Behind’ through heightened awareness and community engagement. Activities will range from conventional media discussions, school debates, social media campaign, identifying NTD fight Ambassadors and research findings dissemination. In addition, the Ministry will be screening, administering drugs and holding exhibitions. Traditional and Religious leaders will be engaged in a bid to ensure they understand impact of NTDs in the community.
