We have a special seminar on NTDs (Schistosomiasis) for the medical school community co-sponsored by the Program in Molecular Medicine and The Li Weibo Institute for Rare Diseases Research.
From 10th – 29th January: Deworming in Primary schools. Then on the D-day 30th January 2020: monitoring of the deworming exercise and health education in the various schools.
Radio Program: to be held live from 8.00 to 9.00 am at the famous “Barka da Hantsi” program to aired at Freedom Radio, Dutse.
We offer two main activities for the celebration of this day: a. Media communication day on MTN 01/29/2020 which will consist of awareness raising programs on preventive measures against NTDs through a synergy of our 30 media already partners (2 hour interactive program with an expert on MTN to broadcast simultaneously on partner radios and televisions);
Host a Twitter chat to: Raise awareness about NTDs, mark the occasion of the first World NTD Day—January 30, 2020, discuss a variety of NTD-related topics and issues, connect with other World NTD Day participants in our countries and around the globe.
To celebrate World NTD day, IUETSPC-ULL is hosting a “NTD Education and Awareness Day”.
We will have a meeting in the hospital to talk about the projects in which we work on neglected diseases. One of our students will also talk about the training given in the university.
Everythingpublichealth believes that information is powerful and not just any information but that which is understandable and accessible to all. We plan to develop and display on our web page an original article titled BEAT NTDs: FOR GOOD OF ALL. The article will educate on the various Neglected Tropical Diseases, mode of transmission, signs and symptoms, prevention and treatment and misconceptions about some NTDs, as well as the roles of different stakeholders in NTDs prevention and treatment.
The Research Center of the Autonomous University of Yucatán, Mexico has been a pioneer in the study of NTDs in the southeast of Mexico and it is an an entity with the capacity and experience which recognizes the relevance and importance of the control of neglected diseases We are very excited to participate the next January 30th and the next 2 weeks in the promotion of this date. Our activities will include: radio programs, TV presentations, cultural activities and conferences organization with the participation of the experts in the field from at least 4 different formal groups from our research center.
